One of the most crucial stages in travelling with your horse is the loading and unloading. Some of the worst accidents can also occur during these stages. Slipping of the side of the ramp can not only seriously damage a horses trust in trucking, but cause serious injury.

To help avoid such incidents DEFRA have now made recommendations that all horse boxes are fitted with rear loading gates. Although most new horse boxes already come fitted with these as standard, many horse boxes still don't have them fitted.
